Hi all ... in answer to a lot of comments and emails to the blog, there's some news for X-Series customers who are as addicted as we are to Skype. As part of the roll out of 3 Like Home we're told that you won't be charged for Skype roaming when you're in countries with a 3 network.
Here's the words direct from our 3 UK colleagues:
As of January 2007 3 no longer charges for any use of the Skype service when on any of the 3 operating company networks worldwide. This is part of the 3 Like Home initiative which applies to all of 3's services when 3 UK customers are roaming on other 3 networks world wide.
Yes, it's true friends :-) For more information if you are in the UK check out this link, or visit your local 3 country web site.
Enjoy!

Skype on my x-series is great but doesn't work with skype-out and skype-in both of which would be really useful. Skype-out I hold little hope for as it would completely bypass three's income from phone calls and I can always make an actual phone call - but skype in wouldn't do that so much and also if people call my skype number and don't get through it's a lost call to me so much more important.
I hope this can be made to work in the future :)

Just wondering if their is any chance we can use the x-series as a modem, of cause with a limit to be fair. Just would be useful when away from home sometimes.

Just wondering why X-series does not support on PocketPC WM5 like HTC P3600 or O2 Zinc?
In PPC, the screen is bigger and it supports Live Messenger, sling media, Yahoo!, Mobile Mail, Skype, orb, with Internet Explorer as browser!!!!!!

Can you come over to Germany? Let's start with Hamburg? Near enough to UK maybe? :)
