X-Series answers - The road to Morocco
Helen asks: Hi. Please can you just clear up something for me. I have the X Series Silver package and I travel to Morocco a lot. Please can you tell me if my internet usage (both web browsing and modem use) is free or do you charge a roaming fee? Also is MSN messenger free too? Only I have read on this site that it’s free - but I have asked in store and they said its definitely not free anywhere outside of the UK on both Silver or Gold packages.
3 UK answers: We currently do not have a data roaming agreement in Morocco. This means that Voice and SMS will work but all other services including 3's Planet 3 portal, picture messaging, X-Series applications and internet browsing will not work in Morocco. The T&Cs of the X-Series do not allow you to use your X-Series phone as a modem for your PC and the allowance applies to on-phone usage only. X-Series applications will work and will be charged the same as in the UK when roaming on one of 3's sister networks around the world under our 3 Like Home program. This includes Italy, Austria, Sweden, Denmark and even Australia.

I just noticed tha the W950i is "Coming Soon" on the X-Series UK website.
Can you PLEASE give us a date???
I've coming up to my 3rd month of a 12 month contract, and STILL no X-Series. I'm starting to regret my move to 3.

Any chance of actual answers to new questions rather than questions already answered some time ago?
Instead of telling us about what 3 can't do (ie, roam to non-3 countries), why don't you tell us about your attempts to get these roaming agreements in place? People want solutions, not to be told what they can't do!
I'm sure a lot of people would love to hear something like: "We recognise that 3 (and thus your X-Series service) only work in less than ten countries world-wide, which isn't much compared to where any type of 3G services are available. We've had trouble arranging roaming agreements for our innovative new X-Series service with more old-fashioned operators. Nevertheless, our efforts to gain these roaming agreements continue and we will update you on our progress every few months."
Not much to ask is it? Sure, we know international agreements are hard, but in the spirit of 3's new open and spin-free communication, I think we can handle the truth - as long as 3 is doing something to help their customers get a better service!
Just a last thought - I'm certain there would be customers willing to pay for proper X-Series roaming regardless of the cost. It's better that *any* 3G data roaming existed at any cost (and was eventually made better) than it didn't exist at all.
Thanks for your efforts,
Peter Williams
