Geotagging photos with MobUP
A wonderful thing that you can do with your mobile is to snap a photo and "automagically" geotag it while uploading to the internet.
In non-jargon words that means that you can add some information to the photo that indicates where exactly the photo was taken. You can then easily display the photos on a big world map like this one .
What you need to do that? First of all an external GPS antenna connected via bluetooth to your mobile, a free open source application called MobUP and a Flickr account.
MobUP is an application that lets you upload your pictures directly from your mobile to Flickr and also post the photo on your blog. The latest version comes with a function to automatically geotag your photos using an external bluetooth GPS device.
You can download the application for free from the official MobUP site ... there's also a blog.
If you wanna know a little more about the geotagging service offered by Flickr don't miss this post on their official blog.
I bet that in the near future people won't browse their photo albums using only a time line but also a nicer version of this photomap. Do you agree?

How come your cellphone can't simply write the GSM cell location information into the phone? Why do users need a separate GPS?
